Just got back from my first WordCamp and was inspired by my experience. I’ve attended Joomla® Camps and Drupal® Camps, and this was my favorite for many reasons.

First I want to discuss the similarities. The venue was definitely packed with people who were eager to learn. There were some great speakers and overall I learned tons of information.

Now, how were they different? WordCamp had more swag, more diversity, catered lunch, and great music. I was lucky enough to meet Matt Mullenweg who is the founding developer of WordPress®. As you probably know Matt was named #16 of the 50 most important people on the web by PC World® in 2007.

Typically, I’ve limited my endeavors to Drupal® and Joomla®. When WordPress® 3.0 is released, that will change. The popular blog software is becoming more of an enterprise CMS, and 3.0 promises to be a big step in that direction.
